Snack... Two Tape Transcripts by William S. Burroughs and Eric Mottram, as published as a chapbook by Jim Pennington of Aloes Books (London, England) in 1975. Introduction by Jim Pennington. Preface by Eric Mottram. Cover photograph of Burroughs is by Roy Pennington. Graham Dawes assisted in transcription. Design and printing by Jim Pennington at War on Want (London).
As noted in Jim Pennington's introduction, tape one is "of a radio broadcast made by Eric Mottram for the BBC at the time of the Times Literary Supplement correspondence on the banning of William Burroughs' books in 1964. It formed the starting point for Mr. Mottram's long study of Burroughs entitled The Algebra of Need."
As also noted by Jim Pennington, tape two "was made at the Duke Street [London] flat of Mr. Burroughs in the early summer of 1973. Aloes Books had just published The He Expression by Eric Mottram and White Subway by Burroughs".
In regard to the cover photo, Roy Pennington noted that it was "the last photo I took in 1971 as I left Bill's flat in Duke St. where I visited to discuss my pirated publication 'Acadamy Series'. The lift door was right in front of the flat door, surrounded by the stairs."
I cannot recall from where I acquired this item, as I have had it for decades.
