Photograph of Jim McCrary and William S. Burroughs by Dale Monaghen (1995)

Kansas City, Missouri, US: Dale Monaghen (photograph, stamped, inscribed), 1995
8" x 5.125", GSP, likely cut down from an 8" x 10", inscribed on the verso by Jim McCrary

Trimmed photograph of Jim McCrary and William S. Burroughs at a book signing at The Writers Place in Kansas City, Missouri, US in 1995. This photograph was taken by Dale Monaghen, and is stamped with his name on the verso.

Jim inscribed this in pencil on the verso: “Jan 18, 2024… McCrary & WSB at book signing either in KCMO [Kansas City, MO.] or Lawrence KS. – early 1990s? Can’t tell what item he is holding in his hand [a grove edition of Naked Lunch]? Or why the picture is cut up?!!”

This was received from Jim McCrary as a gift, along with one of his books of poetry and a chapbook by Udo Breger – all formerly in his care.

Jim McCrary sent me a second 6" x 4" photograph of the same image in 2023, with clarifying text on the verso.
