Notes from Syropa by poet Neeli Cherkovski, a satire released as a free item by Klean Kharma Press (San Francisco, California, US) in 1976. This is a satire of the Naropa Institute, with pseudonyms for some familiar characters such as the Chief Lama Ripoffche (Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche), Anne Walnut (Anne Waldman), Allen Grabbag (Allen Ginsberg), Yak Karnak (Jack Kerouac), Michael McFury (Michael McClure), Berry Ryder (Gary Snyder), Robin Sunkin (Robert Duncan), and others.
Burroughs is referred to on the second page: "And boy did I meet a lot of famous poets. They're all here. Even that guy who wrote THE SOFT MACHINE. I never had a chance to go soft at Syropa."
This scarce item, only represented in four libraries according to OCLC, was acquired from Philip Smith, Bookseller (Berkeley, California, US).
