Newcastle upon Tyne, England: Newcastle Film Festival (program), 1978.
8.25" x 3.875" (closed); 8.25" x 23.375" (open), two-sided, six-panels, printed both sides.
A program for Future Worlds, the Newcastle Film Festival held between 16 June and 2 July 1978 at the Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
The program mostly lists films; however, on Sunday, 18 June, at 3 pm, the "Futureworlds Brains Trust" was held, featuring a panel discussion on the future by Magnus Pyke, Andrew Wiseman, Michael Rodd, and William S. Burroughs.
This copy was acquired as a gift from editor/author/publisher Jeff Goldberg (NYC), who was in Burroughs' company at the time. In a letter sent with the program, Jeff notes that he was present and "can attest that it happened." He also adds that "[w]e drove out to see the Roman Wall near Newcastle. [Bill's] remark on seeing the stone ruin: 'Well, we've seen it. Let's go.'"
