Introduction by Stephen Prothero. This is a collection of the writings of Beat Generation authors and essays on their connections with Buddhism.

William S. Burroughs has a dedicated chapter at pages 293-303, which mostly consists of excerpts from his The Retreat Diaries

There are additionally multiple photos of Burroughs by Allen Ginsberg within the photo section.
