"Apocalypse" [book] by William S. Burroughs and Keith Haring (1988)
New York City: George Mulder Fine Arts (book, monograph, art), 1988.
10.5" x 10.5" x 0.25", 28 unpaginated pages, hardcover in dust-jacket, no ISBN.
Apocalypse by William S. Burroughs (text) and Keith Haring (art), as published in a limited "Luxe" edition hardcover by George Mulder Fine Arts (New York City) in 1988. Catalogue design by Jeop Paulussen with lithography by Nemela & Lenzen GmbH. Cover image adapted from a photograph by Tseng Kwong Chi. The hardcover "Luxe" edition [shown here] was released in an edition of 250 copies.
This is a collaboration between Burroughs and Haring, and this book presents the text and art for all ten parts of the work, originally released in a fine art folio of 120 copies, of which 20 are artist proofs, 5 are hors commerce, and 5 are print proofs.
This copy was acquired from Cult Jones (Antwerp, Belgium).
In the archive, I additionally have a copy of the softcover variant, signed by William S. Burroughs. The softcover is not the "Luxe" edition, although its colophon might confuse some people into thinking it is. The softcover edition size is not stated; it is certainly larger than the 250-copy run of the hardcover, but it is still quite uncommon.
Shoaf I.71.
