Program for "Beatnik Shindig" (2015)

San Francisco: The Beat Museum (conference program), 2015.
8.5" x 5.5", 32 pages, stapled wraps.

A program for Beatnik Shindig, the first Beat Generation Conference organized by The Beat Museum (San Francisco) at the Fort Mason Center.

This is heavy on West-Coast Beat, but this does list “William S. Burroughs: ‘We Intend to Destroy All Dogmatic Verbal Systems’”, a talk by V. Vale and Marian Wallace on June 27th, 4:00-5:15 pm.

One of Allen Ginsberg’s photos of Burroughs is on the cover, collaged with other photos of Kerouac and Ginsberg.

This copy was previously owned by Jack Micheline’s son Vince Silvaer [Jack died in 1998 so was not an attendee], and notes its previous ownership on the first page. This copy was acquired from Jeffrey Weinberg at Water Row Books (Massachusetts, US).
