The Beat Experience, an interactive CD-ROM produced by the Voyager Company (New York City) in 1996, together with the Red Hot Organization and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Created, designed, and directed by John Carlin. Produced by Alice M. Rubin. Interface design by Vinnie Ray Fugere and Peter Semmelhack. The design director was Helene Silverman. Illustrated by Sue Coe, Gary Panter, Stephen Kroninger, and Suzan Pitt. Radio sound design by Steve Stein, and additional sound design by tomandandy, Tim Barnes, Paul Furedi, and Mike Pendolfo. Film editing by Bruce Ashley, Hank Corwin, Noah Herzog, and Adam Schwartz. Many additional contributors are listed in the final credits.
This presentation includes audio, images, and video of William S. Burroughs, some of which appear in a “cut-up” section (including excerpts from Antony Balch's films with Burroughs). Parts of William S. Burroughs Naked Lunch and "The Invisible Generation" can be read within the interface.
