Ali's Smile by William S. Burroughs, an LP released by Paradigm Discs (London, England) in 2021. Front cover photograph by Aldo Durazzi (in 1962), and back cover photograph by Harriet Crowder (in 1960). Album research by Jim Pennington, with a side of the insert containing 'Pry Yourself Loose" by Jim Pennington. The image of the Unicorn Bookshop on the other side of the insert is by A. L. Smith.
This LP is composed of Alis Smile and Nova Dispatches. Edited and mastered by Clive Graham with artwork by Clive Graham.
As noted on the back cover:
"Ali's Smile was published in 1971 by Unicorn Bookshop in Brighton. It appeared as a one sided LP in a plain white sleeve complete with a hardback craft-bound copy of the book. Only 99 copies were made. This edition is mastered from the original vinyl recording.
"Nova Dispatches was recorded by Burroughs himself in 1963 in response to questions sent to him by Gary Goldhill, a freelance researcher. Excerpts from these tapes were subsequently used by Eric Mottram to illustrate a talk about Burroughs called 'The Algebra of Need', which was broadcast on the BBC's Third Programme on 9th March, 1964."
This LP was released in an edition of 1,000 copies, of which this copy is #623. In the archive there is also a copy of the deluxe "Ali's Smile Companion Box", which contains #7 of the LP.
