William Burroughs: Painting, a 1988 exhibition catalogue for shows at both Suzanne Biederberg Gallery (Amsterdam, Netherlands), and The October Gallery (London, England). This includes reproductions of sixteen of Burroughs' paintings, and also includes James Grauerholz's essay "On Burroughs' Art".
This was F. A. Nettlebeck's copy, with an inscription from Burroughs: "This is important:/ for Fred Nettlebeck/ With memories of Santa/ Cruz and all best/ imports/ William S. Burroughs/ June 2, 1989". The line "This is important" is significant as it echoes the name of one of F. A. Nettlebeck's publications – "This Is Important" – a small periodical of accordion-folded pages, which published William S. Burroughs in three of its issues.
The paintings reproduced in this item include:
- "The Milky Way" (1988)
- "Through a Fish Eye" (1988)
- "Necropolis" (1987)
