This chapbook is a recollection of the casting and making of the film BEAT, which starts Keifer Sutherland as William S. Burroughs and Courtney Love as Joan Vollmer. The dialogue of Courtney Love is of interest for its discussions of Joan Vollmer and for some background on Love's former husband Kurt Cobain's interests in Burroughs.
