William S. Burroughs: A Bibliography, 1953-73 (Unlocking Inspector Lee's Word Hoard), compiled by Joe Maynard and Barry Miles, published by the University Press of Virginia (Charlottesville, Virginia) in 1978. Includes photographs by Richard Avedon, Hydon Taylor, and Barry Miles. Dedicated to Ian Sommerville and Donatella Manganotti. 2000 copies printed, along with a special edition of fifty copies numbered and signed by William S. Burroughs.

This is the most influential bibliography for collectors and scholars, a thorough work of the literary output of William S. Burroughs up through 1973. This includes – unlike most other bibliographies – images of some of the items (and thus is an influence on my work), and information on publishing limitations.

This work includes a foreword by William S. Burroughs, making it a primary item of its own, and an introduction by Allen Ginsberg (which asks "Who has the time to read such big bibliographies?" – and I raise my hand).

I have multiple copies of the work. This specific copy is signed by Barry Miles at the title page.
