Letter from Lawrence Ferlinghetti to Victor Bockris on "The Burroughs File" (1979)

A letter from Lawrence Ferlighetti at City Lights to Victor Bockris requesting additional copies of “Burroughs File” (full title: The Burroughs File: My files on William Burroughs, literary soldier, private pilot). This was a self-produced 65-year “festschrift” for Burroughs by Bockris, produced in only fifty copies – 25 for close friends and 25 for sale.

This letter asks for 25 copies (unlikely fulfilled given the edition size), and remarks on work on a “new Burroughs book” by City Lights – perhaps the similarly-titled The Burroughs File which was published in 1984.

This letter was received as a gift from fellow collector Jeffrey Ball.
