"The Adding Machine: Selected Essays" (1986)
New York City: Seaver Books (book, essays, primary, 1st, signed), 1986.
8.5" x 5.75" x 0.75", 206 pages, hardcover with dust-jacket, ISBN 0-8050-0000-3.
William S. Burroughs' The Adding Machine: Selected Essays, published in 1986 by Seaver Books. Jacket photograph by Jerry Bauer, and jacket design by Robert Reed.
One of the working titles for this book was Misogyny and Other Essays.
This copy, which is signed by William S. Burroughs, was previously his friend Patricia Marvin's copy, and was acquired through Kevin Ring at Beat Scene Press (Binley Woods, England). Inside this copy was tucked a review by J. G. Ballard on The Adding Machine – it is not known what paper this is from.
I additionally have a second copy, unsigned, which has been in my care since the early 1990's.
