Original Film Outline for "I am dying, Meester?" written by Barry Hall (c. 1967)
London, England: Barry Hall and Malcolm Hart (typescript, film outline), c. 1967
10" x 8", 14 type-written pages, unsigned, paper-clipped at top left.
Around 1967 (or so), writer Barry Hall [Goliard Press] made a trip with filmmaker Malcolm Hart to propose a short film to Burroughs based on The Yage Letters. Burroughs would travel with them down to South America for filming and recreate his adventures in the Amazon. Burroughs agreed. An outline (a bit of prose to envision the film) was written up by Barry Hall, and presented. The film however was not pursued and completed (for reasons not fully clear).
In any case, this is the original typed film outline entitled "I am dying, Meester?" by Barry Hall, a 14 page typescript that was published in Beat Scene, Issue 89, Spring 2018.
Acquired from Kevin Ring of Beat Scene Press, who received it from Malcolm Hart, who acknowledged that this was the original copy upon transfer to Kevin.
