The Burroughs File: My Files on William Burroughs, literary soldier, private pilot by Victor Bockris

New York City: Victor Bockris, privately printed (green plastic binding with dust jacket, xerox copied, limited, only printing) 1979.

One of the 50 copies printed (25 offered to friends, and 25 released to sale) of this compendium of Bockris' articles, notes, photographs, letters, etc. of and with William S. Burroughs. A 65th birthday "Festschrift" published prior to the release of Bockris' A Report from the Bunker interview book with Burroughs.

"These pieces have appeared in Interview, The New Review (London), The New York Arts Journal, The Drummer, Chic, National Screw, The Soho Weekly News, The World, Traveller's Digest, The Village Voice and High Times. Naturally I wish to extend my thanks to all the editors except those at The New Review and The Soho Weekly News who both refused to pay me after they'd published the work."

Includes multiple images of Burroughs (and friends) by Bockris, Miles, Bobby Grossman, Christopher Makos, Gerard Malanga, Les Levine, Tina Freeman, Brion Gysin, Marcia Resnick, James Hamilton, Allen Ginsberg.

This copy acquired through James Cummins, Bookseller (NYC). Unsigned.

Also in the archive is a letter from Lawrence Ferlinghetti to Victor Bockris about this item. The letter came to me by way of fellow collector Jeffrey Ball.

Not in Shoaf (oddly, since it is included in Shoaf's section at RealityStudio -- see below)
