Coaxial's "A Grim, Sour Bullwhip" (2026)

A Grim, Sour Bullwhip by Coaxial, a cassette tape by Coaxial, released in an edition of 20 copies c. 2026. The title is an anagram of "William Burroughs" (with a left-over 'p'). The slipcase features an image of William S. Burroughs by Savage Pencil. The cassette itself is printed with a purple-magenta image of William S. Burroughs in London, 1966, with Michael Portman and Ian Sommerville. 

This contains one track per side: “White Terror” on side A and “Ghost Writer” on side B. This includes Burroughs recordings from Nova Express, reading “The Last Words of Hassan Sabbah,” talking about Madame Chiang Kai-shek, trying to speak Chinese, and singing “Ghost Riders in the Sky,” accompanied by field recordings of Buddhist chanting, bird songs, and someone playing what seems to be a Yue Qin (moon guitar).
