Letter from Maurice Girodias to William S. Burroughs (1960)
Paris, France: Maurice Girodias (correspondence), 1960.
8.25" x 5.25", recto only, typed on Olympia Press letterhead and signed, no envelope.
A letter from Maurice Girodias of The Olympia Press, the first publisher of Burroughs' The Naked Lunch, to William S. Burroughs at his "Beat Hotel" address, 9 rue Gît-le-Cœur, Paris, dated 10 March 1960.
This is a request for a revision of The Naked Lunch to support a German translation [likely the 1st German edition by Limes]: "Dear Burroughs / I would like to know whether you have time / to revise a copy of The Naked Lunch for the / German translators. / Of course, it is necessary. / Yours sincerely, / Maurice Girodias."
This letter was acquired from Charles Nelson at Kernoozers, Ltd. (Ascot, Berkshire, England).
