"Rapture" by "Triangle-Slash" (1995)
Seattle, Washington, US: Starhead Comix (book, comic), 1995.
11" x 8.5" x 0.25", appx. 116 pages [unpaginated], post-bound, 500 numbered copies.
Rapture, a comic by the artist known as "Triangle-Slash" [a symbol of a triangle with a line through it], as hand-made and published by Starhead Comix (Seattle, Washington, US) in 1995. Each of the 500 copies produced is numbered, signed with the artist's symbol, and has a thumbprint in the artist's blood.
This contains "The Finger by William Lee," a nine-page comic on the severing of William S. Burroughs' little finger, an account in which he seeks to impress a "girl" by removing the finger as a "trifling memento of my undying affection." Another myth about the amputation.
This copy is a presentation copy inscribed by Triangle-Slash to Jeffrey Weinberg, a bookseller who sold Triangle-Slash's works. This is signed by symbol and dated "9-26-95." I received this copy directly from Jeffrey Weinberg.
In 2026, I received a letter from Jeffrey with a processed check made out to Triangle-Slash, as a "Finger Deposit". This is also signed on the back with the artist's symbol. These are now maintained with the copy.
