Paul Bowles: Photographs ("How could I send a picture into the desert?") an annotated photobook by Paul Bowles edited by Simon Bischoff and published in a hardcover edition by Scalo Publishers (New York City) in 1994, in collaboration with the Swiss Foundation for Photography. Translated by Ishbel Flett. Designed by Hans Werner Holzwarth, with copy-editing by Catherine Schelbert.

Burroughs is represented briefly in the text and at the photographs on pages 21, 52-53, and 168. A photo of Mohammed Mrabet with Brion Gysin is on page 176.
