8.5" x 5.5" x 0.875", 220 pages, softcover, ISBN 0-394-73569-2.

Volume I of the two-volume Talking Poetics from Naropa Institute: Annals of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, edited by Anne Waldman and Marilyn Webb and published by Shamblaha Publications (Boulder, Colorado, US) in 1978. Introduction by Allen Ginsberg.

This includes a lecture by William S. Burroughs from 27 July 1976 on the EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) experiments of Konstantin Raudive, "It Belongs to the Cucumbers: On the Subject of Raudive's Tape Voices", pp. 62-81. This appeared in the January 1977 issue of Crawdaddy, as well.

A photo of Burroughs by Andrea Craig accompanies his piece.

This copy was formerly owned by Arnold Dreybatt, who received it as a gift from Naropa student David Stone.  David Stone managed to get this inscribed and signed by multiple Naropa figures, most of whom appear in this book, including editors Anne Waldman and Marilyn Webb, Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky, and William S. Burroughs.

Peter Orlovsky, who does not appear in this volume wrote: "To Arnold Dreybatt / Jan 16 1979 / Buy my book of / Poems & I'll / Plant you / a nut tree / a nut tree / Its called Clean Ass / hole / Poems / & Smiling Vegetable / Songs / Pub. by City Lights, S.F. / Old friends Plant / Old nut trees / I eat old nut food / in Old long days / of Winter Fall / to Keep Strong / & why not as Kerouac / would say / Peter Orlovsky"

Allen Ginsberg inscribed the book to David Stone: "Allen Ginsberg / for David Stone / January 16, 1979 / Boulder, Colo. / Words here fixed / w/out the pix."

Marilyn Webb inscribed the book to David Stone: "For Dave – / Your videos are great / & keep the books moving / Marilyn Webb"

Anne Waldman and William S. Burroughs simply signed the book, no inscriptions.

Finally, David Stone inscribed the book to Arnold Dreybatt: "1/19/79 (I'm 25 today) / Arnold, / Thought I'd join in the fun / Happy New Year 1979 and / new February moon cycle. / Not commemorating by Hello. / Since Mr. Orlovsky is not in this book, his / advice of companion volume accompanies. David"
