New York City: Paragon House (book, anthology), 1988.
9" x 6" x 0.875", 272 pages, softcover, ISBN 1-55778-095-1.

Kerouac and the Beats: A Primary Sourcebook, edited by Arthur and Kit Knight as published in both softcover (pictured) and hardcover by Paragon House (New York City) in 1988. Foreword by John Tytell. Cover design by Susan Newman, including a cover photograph by Larry Keenan.

John Tytell contributes "An Interview with William S. Burroughs," pp. 14-39. This is accompanied by images of Burroughs by Sharon Gwynup (at the Kerouac Conference, Boulder, Colorado, 1982), Arthur Knight (with Anne Waldman in Boulder, Colorado, 1982), and Gerard Malanga (with Brion Gysin, London, 1972; in London, 1972).

The excerpt from Herbert Huncke's Guilty of Everything in this collection also includes substantial information about Burroughs, as does the interview with Neal Cassady by Jack Kerouac.

This specific copy was formerly owned by Linda Twigg, a Chelsea Hotel friend of the Beats, and has her ownership inscription. This copy was acquired from Shiv Marabito of the Shivastan Poetry Ashram (Woodstock, New York).

Shoaf IV.131.
