Die Alten Filme by William S. Burroughs, a collection of more minor works, was published in softcover by Maroverlag (Augsburg, Germany) in 1979. Pictured is a copy of the second printing. Translations by Carl Weissner. Cover and design by Walter Hartmann.

This book, which includes the text of Cobble Stone Gardens as well as several shorter writings, has not been published in this form in English. A number of the items in this collection, however, can be found in the book The Burroughs File (1984).

An advertisement for the periodical Gasolin 23, which includes Burroughs in a number of its issues can be found at the end of the book.

This book contains a few images of Burroughs, in New Waverly, Texas (by Allen Ginsberg, 1947), in Paris (by "N.N.", 1960), and in London, England (by Udo Breger, 1973).
