I was a DJ at my college’s radio station when this album came out. Island sent a press kit with this photo to us — I absconded with the photo, and sent it back to Island with a request to have it autographed.
ReplyDeleteA few weeks later, a signed photo actually arrived in the mail. I was ecstatic. It was my first Burroughs signature, and for a while there, I wanted to believe that the photo was autographed specifically in response to my request. (Only later did it occur to me that there was probably a file full of these signed photos at Island’s publicity offices.)
Seeing your post had me re-experiencing the rush of excitement that came with receiving the first genuine jewel in the crown of my WSB Collection. Thanks for that.
35 years later, the signed photo still hangs over that same collection.
