At the beginning of the chapter "The Heartland" is a photograph split over two pages of William S. Burroughs, Jim McCrary, and S. Clay Wilson on Burroughs' porch, pp. 122-123. This chapter includes a number of mentions of Burroughs.

In addition, the poster for the "River City Reunion" is reproduced as is a number of publications in which Burroughs was published, such as First Intensity.
