the 'Priest' they called him, a 45 RPM 10" colored vinyl picture disc, numbered, of spoken word by William S. Burroughs and guitar sounds by Nirvana-frontman Kurt Cobain, as released by Tim/Kerr Records (Portland, Oregon, US) in 1993. Jacket design by Steve Connell. Brad Murphy engineered Burroughs' recording. Barrett Jones recorded Cobain's part. Thor Lindsay was executive producer, and James Grauerholz, producer. Cover image and Kurt Cobain photograph by Mark Trunz. Burroughs photograph by Gus Van Sant. Mixed by E. J. Rose and James Grauerholz.
William S. Burroughs was recorded at Red House Studios, Lawrence, KS, on September 25, 1992. Kurt Cobain's guitar part was recorded in November, 1992.
This is technically a second pressing picture disc limited to 5,000 copies, numbered from 5,001 to 10,000.
Side A of this album is a picture disc with the 9'41" track, numbered in red ink on face.
Side B of this album has no audio, but is engraved with the facsimile signatures of William S. Burroughs and Kurt Cobain.
This specific copy is #6,250 of the 10,000 numbered copies [or, rather, #1,250 of the 5,000 yellow numbered copies].
