Galerie von Bartha's "Light and Shadow" (2006)
Basel Switzerland: Galerie von Bartha (book, exhibition catalog), 2006.
11.25" x 9" x 0.25", 56 pages, softcover, ISBN 978-3-033-0833-5.
Light and Shadow by Astrid Bextermöller and Heinz Stahlhut, an artbook/exhibition catalog published by Galerie von Bartha (Basel, Switzerland) in 2006.
This includes an overview of the Dreamachine – crediting William S. Burroughs and Brion Gysin for its creation (only a minor mention of Ian Sommerville) – along with an image of a mid-1970s Dreamachine, pp. 16-17.
Additionally, this includes a quote by Burroughs: “Elaborate geometric construction of incredible intricacy build up from multi-dimensional mosaic into living fireballs like the mandalas of Eastern mysticism or resolve momentarily into apparently individual images and powerfully dramatic scenes like brightly coloured dreams.”
This copy was acquired from Antiquariat Heinzelmännchen (Stuttgart, Germany).
