David Wojnarowicz: Tongues of Flame, edited by Barry Blinderman and published in softcover by Illinois State University (Normal, Illinois, US) and Distributed Art Publishing (New York City) in 1990. This is an exhibition catalogue for Wojnarowicz's travelling exhibition in 1990-1991.
Burroughs supplies a blurb to the back cover: "David Wojnarowicz has caught the age-old voice of the road, the voice of the traveler, the outcast, the thief, the whore, the same voice that was heard in Villon's Paris, in the Rome of Petronius."
This blurb was originally printed on the back cover of David Wojnarowicz' Sounds in the Distance, published by James Pennington's excellent Aloes Press in 1982.
At the foreword of the book is a black and white reproduction of a Wojnarowicz collage work of Burroughs from 1978 entitled "Bill Burroughs' Recurring Dream."
This copy was acquired from Philip Smith, Bookseller (Berkeley, California, US). This site appreciates drawing our attention to the blurb on the back cover of this book.
