Allen De Loach's copy of "Apomorphine" (1969)

Apomorphine by William S. Burroughs, as published in France by L'Herne in 1969. This book, which is a collection of essays, has no English edition, although most of the essays have appeared in periodicals and English-language compilations.  This was translated into French by Mary Beach and Claude Pélieu.

This book contains the following essays:

• "Nouvelles de Cold Spring" ("The Coldspring News")
• "Le Complot" ("The Conspiracy")
• "L'Exterminateur" ("The Exterminator")

The first essay is a re-worked form – without images – of the text of APO-33 Bulletin, but is not the same. The last essay is an essay on Conrad Rooks' film Chappaqua, and, as far as I know has only appeared in English within Royal's World Countdown, Volume 2, Number 6, March 1966. The other essays are more commonly found in their original English.

This specific copy belonged to Intrepid publisher Allen De Loach, and is inscribed by William S. Burroughs as well as both of the translators, Claude Pélieu and Mary Beach.
