New York City: Holt, Rinehart and Winston (book, primary, inscribed, association), 1984.
9.25" x 6.5" x 1.125", 306 pages, hardcover in dust-jacket as issued, ISBN 0-03-063256-0.
William S. Burroughs' The Place of Dead Roads, as published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston (New York City) in 1984. Trade edition hardcover.
This copy is an association copy inscribed to Lawrence, Kansas artist and Burroughs friend Wayne Propst: "For Wayne Probst [sic] / A charter member of the Johnson Family with friendship and all best wishes / William S. Burroughs / March 27, 1984 / The Day After". I am not certain what "The Day After" refers to in the inscription.
Wayne Propst can be seen interviewed in the documentary William S. Burroughs: A Man Within (2010) by Yony Leyser, and also in the documentary Words of Advice: William S. Burroughs On the Road (2007) by Lars Movin and Steen Müller Rasmussen.
