Pam and Charles Plymell's copy of Last Words (2000)
New York City: Grove Press (book, 1st, signed, inscribed), 2000.
7" x 5.375" x 1.125", 274 pages, hardcover with dust-jacket.
The copy of Burroughs' posthumously-published Last Words: The Final Journals of William S. Burroughs published by Grove Press (NYC) in 2000, edited and with an introduction by James Grauerholz, former manager for William S. Burroughs and current estate owner. The cover reproduces an image used in the Burroughs funeral announcement.
This specific copy was formerly owned by poet Charles Plymell and Pam Plymell, both publishers (Cherry Valley Editions, Northeast Rising Sun, The Coldspring Journal, The Last Times, Now, etc.), and was acquired directly from the couple.
This copy was personally inscribed to them by James Grauerholz in the year of publishing, and additionally is inscribed by Aaron Howard, who assisted in the proofreading of the text.
To add, a short letter from James Grauerholz on William Burroughs Communications letterhead to Charles Plymell is included, which notes the existence of a "vegetable typo" at the "Also by WSB" page. Indeed, the book Tornado Alley is listed as Tomato Alley [sic], technically a fruit typo.
Shoaf I.95.
