Grove Edition of The Soft Machine (1966)
New York City: Grove Press (book, primary, 1st thus, signed), 1966.
8.25" x 5.75" x 1", 182 pages, hardcover with dust-jacket.
The first Grove Press printing of William S. Burroughs' The Soft Machine, published in 1966. This is often referred to as part of the "Cut-Up Trilogy" of works including The Ticket That Exploded and Nova Express.
This copy is signed by William S. Burroughs on the title page, and was previously in the collection of Asher D. Atchick (King of Prussia, Pennsylvania), acquired through Pacific Book Auctions.
I additionally hold a review copy of the book, which was acquired many years ago from a thrift store on the San Juan Islands in Washington state. This includes the review slip from Grove Press.
