An essay by Alan Ansen on William S. Burroughs which "draws upon material published in three earlier essays: 'Anyone Who Can Pick Up a Frying Pan Owns Death' (Big Table, Summer 1959); 'After THE NAKED LUNCH' (City Lights Journal, 1964); and 'William Burroughs: A Personal View'(Review of Contemporary Fiction, Spring 1984)."

This was issued in softcover in an edition of 500 copies, with 50 signed and numbered copies in hardcover. This book was republished in 2022 as A Burroughs Triptych, with an introduction by Oliver Harris.

This copy is #17 of 50 copies, formerly owned by Linda Twigg, noteworthy resident of the Beat Hotel and friend of Herbert Huncke. After Linda, this copy was owned by Abel Zug (friend and co-author with Hakim Bey). This copy was acquired through Shiv Marabito.
